Omg that substrate was squelching under her feet, she is checking out her new home, God there is no way she could have burrowed in that sloppy mush. I've called her diamond the other two will be Dakota ( stereophonics song ) and merlin ( classic t name .) Looking forward to getting them into new homes and out of there swamps ( maybe I should have ,called the others Fiona and shrek.

yeh she is working that booty. I hope the others are as easy going as her, she's a little darling. Everyone should be in the Chile rose gang.

Beautiful babies! I love the little fuzzy butts!!!
Thanks, they are lovely little things, were in rotten little pots tho, I wouldn't be surprised if they have sore feet from the mouldy substrate, it was really bad, I'm so happy to have them at home. Dakota is a bit bigger than the other two.

Candy is having a nice wash and diamond is making burrows all over her place. Dakota has not moved since I proded him out of the mouldy pot into his new enclosure, he looks like he is in shock or something, I'm getting worried. He is nice and plump but his pot was the worst, absolutely soaked, full of moulds and reeked to high heaven. I can't see any parasites on him and he doesn't seem stressed but I'm wondering if that mouldy substrate has made his feet sore or something.

Wow, that substrate was sooo wet! Poor little spiders :( Glad they are in good hands now! Try not to worry, he's probably just weirded out by not having his feet in water lol. They sure are cute!

Thanks a lot bast he is laying down now and that is probably something he has not done in a very long time, I'm amazed they haven got mud fever or the tarantula equivalent. I think he is just enjoying a nice lie down now. The other two have burrowed up near the heater. At least they can moult in comfort when they are ready now. None of them were in great condition but poor Dakota had the worst I've never seen mould like that, I would be too ashamed to sell an animal in them conditions, I was tempted to give the bloke a extra tenner so he can buy decent substrate for his next lot of ts. I am so glad I got all there of them, I hardly had any sleep last week cos I was dying to get back to the shop for them.

That was an awful lot of mold :( Not sure how anyone could keep something living in those conditions and not lose sleep at night. Do you think he would take husbandry advice if you offered it to him? I sure feel bad for the next lot :(

No he would not take advice, people are always complaining about the state of the animals in there. It is like a very bad zoo, thousands of animals in a small place and very greedy people running it. I should not shop there as I feel like I'm encouraging it but I keep thinking of the Avics the big Genic and the huge chromatus and I want to bring them home. I am not a tarantula expert but I can give food, water, shelter and warmth.

The other thing that bothers me, if someone is buying there first ever t, they may think they are supposed to live in those conditions. I would not rely on anyone in that shop to give after care advice.

Yeah, that really stinks. I hate people like that, just only in it for the money and could give a rats behind about how to care properly for the animals in their care, and then they just pass on their horrible husbandry techniques to people who would probably otherwise make great keepers/owners. I seen that quite often when I kept reptiles, and noticing it again with T's :(

I really don't know what we should be doing about it though, I'm tempted to drive my car through the store front and take the worst ones but I might end up in jail. I can leave bad reviews I suppose and maybe if rspca get enough complaints they will have to investigate.
