It's starting to get quite some attitude, too, lol.
Every time I open the tub, it runs out of its hole fangs exposed, mouth wide open, front legs in the air.... but all that posturing from the safety of its web, the little hooligan, lol.

It must be their age. Mine didn't run to hide when I started taking photos earlier, just ran round the container for a while then straight at me, luckily the lid was on lol.

Another one of the Orange Thug
K1MLrWp.jpg

He (she) had us in stitches earlier. I opened the tub to feed him and as usual he was sitting at the top of his web. He nearly toppled backwards throwing a threat pose and was sitting like that until I had dropped the cricket in and then it was almost as if he said "Oh, you're feeding me... never mind!" and scuttled down to find his prey. I'm going to have fun with this one, lol.

"Rawwwr!" B. Boehmei not throwing a pose, but actually looking for food.

I'm glad this is an arboreal, otherwise I would have had a heart attack

I'm absolutely in love with this wee guy. Had a bit of a "frustrating" start (he would dig in and stay hidden for months, which I suppose is only natural), but since his adult colours are coming out more and more he's always out on show (despite me creating such a nice hide for him, lol)

The Pipsqueak. It's usually not as wet in there, but the little vandal decided to drag his leaf all through his water bowl and around his tub.

My a. Geniculata giving me the finger :(..... lol.

My Pip(squeak) was and still is the tidy one, it was Mole that constantly emptied the water bowl everywhere and scattered substrate all over.

It's funny how they all have such different personalities. And people think spiders are just mindless bugs, lol.

Finally got a photo: This happens every time I open the lid. First he thumps his front legs off the bark and then throws himself back into a threat pose

My B. Boehmei is in full JCB mode at the moment. I don't know what he's building, he just seems to be shoveling out the front bit. I think he's trying to reenact The Great Escape, as he's also occasionally trying to move the vent with his fangs...
Unfortunately he has to be his own lookout

Shifting the soil (and very likely dumping it in his water dish )

Unfortunately blurry, but you can just make out his fang sticking through the vent

Maybe it moves if I push it

What if I pull it

This little guy is turning into one of my most entertaining spiders. He's such a character. Changing his water is always fun, because he tries to grab the tongs and pull them towards him. The other night I tried to distract him with a wax worm, so I could clean out his water dish, but he still went for the tweezers carrying the worm in his mouth, lol. :T:

Haha, that really made me chuckle. Mind my L. sp Borneo Black has taken to putting its cork bark in the water bowl.

Someone on the BTS facebook page suggested putting toys like Table tennis balls into the more active spiders's enclosures. I'm tempted to give one to my A. Genic and probably the B. Boehmei and the LP's when they're bigger. Apparently some Ts end up digging them in or pushing them around. I know they shouldn't have the brain capacity to "play", but sometimes I wonder if there is more going on inside their little heads than we think...

Oh fgs! Firefox keeps crashing since its update, arrgh!
Fourth time's the charm then:

He's such a vandal. He's now dug in his water dish and one of the plants and he's been trying to pull the other plant of his hide (which he never uses anyway)

A. Amazonica sling webbing. It looks quite dark to me compared to when I first got it. It's not eaten anything neither. Does it look like a premoult to you?

It's very difficult to tell with Avics just by looking at them. Most species don't develop bald spots like other NW species with urticating hairs do. If it's refusing food and webbing a lot, then it probably is.

Here's what you have to look forward to when it gets bigger
