I decided to rehouse a few today, some because they need larger homes and a couple just because their containers were in such a mess.

Ami sp Panama, Palma, had definitely outgrown its vial so is now in a 3" cube.

Mendo, my little C. elegans, another that is growing fast has also moved to a 3" cube

Next was Taal, my O. sp Blue Panay, who had completely buried its bowl, plant and cork bark but refused to wait for a photo shoot and immediately burrow down below.

Sable, the L. sp Borneo black was more accommodating

Sadly I did discover that my C. pentalore, Maya, had died, possibly something to do with a spider I found in its vial a week or so ago.

My next task is to rehouse my 2 N.chromatus and C. bertae into 3" cubes but they need a good wash out first and I'll have to prepare more substrate.

While doing the rehousing I had to move Tinto, the smallest of my 3 B. albopilosums, out of the nursery viv, so I grabbed a pic.

I got the other 3 little Ts rehoused today, all into 3" cubes

First up were the 2 N. chromatus. I've barely seen anything of these 2 since they came 4 and a half months ago, Zingu did push a n old exo out a month ago and I saw Luzia's butt disappear down its hole a few weeks ago otherwise zilch.

Zingu

Luzia

Finally I rehoused Inca, the little C. bertae. I've seen quite a bit of Inca as it started spending a lot of time on or near the surface.

I spotted Sasquatch, my I. hirsutum, all bunched up looking like a furball this afternoon.......

.... then as the sun moved round and caught its container it visibly stretched out to enjoy it.

Woohoo!!!!!! I've had Kota, my Heterothele gabonensis for 4 months now and barely seen it except a butt disappearing down a tunnel. It's always been a greedy feeder and prolific webber so it was great to see all of it tonight (albeit through some web). Kota will only reach around 1.5" dls as an adult and is currently about 1".

That is a different looking T. Almost like a House Spider. Interesting.

@Fuzzball79 It is interesting, it has an amazing maze of tunnels and burrows all over the container. I was about to say it had grown a lot since I got it but I'd only seen one moult but I've just found one in the water bowl that I'd topped up last night so it's moulted today. It was about the size of a 20p piece when it came and now 1".

B. smithi, Popo

B. smithi, Pico

H. maculate, Kofi, seems to have settled well after its over long time in shipping. It set about building its new home the night it arrived and now I only see brief glimpses of it before it darts down its hole.

Vita, H. sp Colombia klein

Last but by no means least is Trip, my P. metallica. Since I moved him into the ExoTerra Nano he has webbed the top corner between glass, wood and plant and there he sits almost all of the time.

H. sp Midnight Blue, Midnight. So hard to get pics of this one as it dives for cover at the slightest disturbance but the last day or 2 it has been out a bit more

Aww, love the three Tapis. Your Gigas still looks sweet and innocent. Wait until it gives you attitude. We call ours the OCT (Orange Climby Thing), because my husband always jokingly said we should get an OBT. Seems like it thinks it actually IS an Orange Baboon, lol.

@Enn49 : I was meant to ask (and you've probably mentioned it before), where you get your smaller terrestrial set ups from? I want to upgrade my LP before he molts again, as I think he could benefit from a slightly large tub. He's now a little over 1" LS.

My gigas seems to have mellowed out a bit as it's gotten older. In terms of defensiveness that is. It's actually fairly calm, but I don't allow myself yo get complacent around it. I've seen it in action and it's not one I'm willing to take chances with.

All three are fast but so far not aggressive. The gigas will run to hide if I move its container but the violaceus will just stay stilleven when I open the container.

@Fuzzball79 If you mean the acrylic cubes, I get them from https://secureshop.co.uk/epages/950...e0/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950002515/Products/BBOX. You can buy them singly or a pack of 5 and he does the 4" cubes, he also sells on Ebay.

I bought my gigas because I never see my OBT and I love the colour.

TBF, Mine only drums and rears up inside its web funnel, where it can retreat quickly, but you're right not a spider to be careless with (if not for the danger of it dashing out and getting lost in your homes nooks and crannies, lol). It's the only one of my 9 (what a collection, eh?) that I get a threat pose from regularly, but I've only got NW now. I don't think it has shown me its true potential regarding speed yet. It tried to make a dash for it when I rehoused it, but was easily caught inside the big box I used to rehouse it (my Versi was faster when I rehoused her and she made an about turn out of the tub, ran up my arm and then into her new tank, lol).

@Enn49 : Thanks, I'll check it out.

You're not supposed to see an OBT ;p

I know that now but she was my first T and I thought I'd see her sometimes. Now I know that she's happy in her cave and will spring clean when necessary I just enjoy the occasional sight of her.
