Here goes. I already own an A. Avic. On Friday I will be getting one of each of the following slings: Mexican Fireleg, OBT, Honduran curlyhair, and a GBB.

My question is, my wife says I am allowed to have 10 Ts. That means I have 5 more species I can own. I was thinking of getting a G. pulchripes or a P. Metallica if I could afford one maybe. I don't know, what other Ts would you say I'd need to have a real collection going?

Hmmm everyone needs a G pulchra, G pulchripes, B smithi, B albiceps, the list goes on and on :) I don't have a P metallica, but they are definitely a beautiful spider. I love my little C darlingi, that's an interesting spider, you may want to look into those. Some of the Nhandu genus are really cool. A geniculata and A brocklehursti will eat anything that comes within 3 feet of their enclosure (keep an eye on your kids lol). It's early and that's all I can think of right now, hopefully I've given you a few to think about.

I Will be shopping for more myself at the end of the month as I'm getting some for my birthday. No species in mind at the moment but there's always room for b smithis and rosies at my place. might look for something different too.

pokies are very different than Avics. You may want to cut your teeth on something a little more affordable than a metallica.
Geniculata are a must for any collection.
You need a burrower, so how about a Blue fang or King baboon?
I'd also strongly suggest an L.Parahybana.

Yeah I think I'll probably get a b.smithi, I know every T is different its just I didnt know if a smithi would be too similiar to my boehmei. Same thing with getting a G pulchra or G pulchripes. I know I want one, but do I want both? There are classics that everyone loves and I just dont want 10 Ts that look and act the same. Also people keep recommending G grammostola, which seems like an intelligent species but I'm unsure about it. Brazilian White Knee, brazilian red and white, and Brazilian black and white look beautiful.

Blue fang and King Baboon sound good. Would be interesting to have a super large T or a burrower. And also, I know I shouldnt start with expensive ornamentals without having a lot more experience under my belt, they just look so damn cool.

I guess the main thing I'm looking for are semi-affordable, maybe friendly Ts; and if they aren't friendly, ones that look cool/beautiful or are interesting to watch/keep as to make up for the wanting to bite my face off part. Visible yet interesting, hopefully. But I guess some people find interest in pet rocks.

Red knees and Fire Legs are pretty similar Ts. Boehmei are just prettier.

If you do want a P.met. get it from Paul at petcenterusa.net He has the most affordable prices on them that I know of.
you can probably get most of the other Ts you want from him as well.

petcenterusa looks sold out of them, there is a local guy selling selling a 1.5 inch sling for $150 including a small acrylic enclosure, I didn't know if this was too high for a p.met

yeah $90 is about as cheap as you'll find them retail in small quantities. $125 is pretty typical.

Need some more arboreals :). What happened to you getting some P.cambridgei? Those would be a good addition, maybe an OBT.. a couple A.versicolor, another L.parahybana... how bout a P.regalis? Lol...

The Cambridgei were in the shop Herod and the rosies in mouldy pots came from. I don't want to buy anything from there again and I hope it gets shut down. Thanks for the recommendations. B vagans I've always liked the sound of as DB says hers eat well. I would like another l parahybana but prefer a baby this time as Manhattan was huge when I got her. Also been thinking of pulcher they look lovely. Will look up all the ones you have recommended thanks for your input guys.

Pulcher > Cambridgei :D
I love all Psalmopoeus equally, but Cambridgei was the first I owned and always seems to be my "favorite" lol.
I need another P.irminia, my little one didn't survive :(. Haven't really been to concerned with getting another, they are my least favorite.. and seem to be the most aggressive as well... lol.

Nothing to say I can't get them at the other shop they have just moved to bigger premises. I'm picturing a tarantulas superstore and me needing a arctic lorry to bring them all home :) Im not so sure about arboreals after Herod I still question if I did something wrong. My friends said she was old but friends are not going to say "its all your fault you overfed her" or "its your fault she died you did this or that wrong."

Hey guys!

I am in the process of teaching Pierre (My tarantula) how to shake hands with me. We almost have it down pact and it's the coolest thing! Just wondering, can your tarantula do tricks too?
If you keep em humid(most arboreals) and warm.. they'll be fine. You don't have to feed em or really do anything differently, just up the humidity and temp :).
