I'm annoyed at myself to be honest I didnt check on her/him at lunch time. He/she is currently in the ICU. I just hope it's ok and makes it.

Don't beat yourself up. I don't think there is anything you could have done to prevent it.

Sometimes they just die :( OK. So, you have her in an ICU. Good. Don't bother her too much. It can take a long time for them to come back from severe dehydration, if at all. It's not like us. Keep her in a warm spot like the top of the fridge. When you shower take the container in the humid steamy bathroom for extra humidity. You said that you tried to give her water right, is that what I read? If you have an eye dropper or the like you can gently put her on her back and place a single drop of water on her mouth parts. I have seen this save Ts. It will take her a long time to drink that one drop. BUt if she takes it offer her another and another. Do this a few times a day as long as she takes the water.

Good luck friend!

Thanks guys/girls.
He/she doesn't look any better since being in the ICU. It's not looking good but I've done as much as I can it's now up to the T. I won't be ordering any more T's I think I will care for the T's I have..

Don't take it to hard Sym. Some are just not meant to survive. I learnt that the hard way when I bred snakes, it's natures selection of the fittest.

Hi Enn49. No change in the T this morning. I've tried feeding droplets into its mouth parts. I've done what I can . You always have it in the back of your mind you could of done better.. But like you say its only the fittest that survive.. It's a shame really .. I've looked at the moult and I think it's a male but not 100%

I hope your T pulls through, but as others have said this happens sometimes as molting takes a lot out of them so don't beat yourself up over it,as it sounds like your doing everything you can to help it recover.

Hi Ghost.. It's not about the money I paid for the T but the responsibility that comes with being a pet owner of any kind. No one wants to see any harm come to there pets . I just feel a tad sad. He/she had full adult colours too with a nice metallic green carapace..
I've been told by a few people it could take a few days to come round..
Everything is crossed...

OK sym, I'm gonna play tough mama for one minute here. Don't you dare give up because you had one bad experience with one T. I went through a run of 5 sling deaths after a molt. It happens, it sucks. Sometimes it's natures way. Be sad for a little bit, it's OK. But don't you dare beat yourself up or give up. Got it? :)

Did it take the water? If there was something wrong with this T it wouldn't have mattered what you did. If it makes you feel better, and it may, we can go over your husbandry, step-by-step if you'd like. Also, if you still have the molt get some pics, let's see if you guessed right. Use this as a learning experience, then if you loose the T at least it was educational for you.

Yes, depending on how far gone s/he is it can take closer to months to come around.

Hi FaaFaa.
I hear what your saying!!
These T's are my first real pets since my G.Rosea 15 yrs ago. We have cats in the house but they are my girlfriends so never really had my own pets until now. I'm not going to gain anymore experience if I give up now and to be fair If my GBB doesn't pull thru I still have 3 left.
But I have been looking at more so it's not all bad..
If my GBB dies I would like to keep her/him in a display box...

Thanks for everyone's concerns means alot.

Hi Martin . This was the last time I saw the GBB out and about sat next to her water bowl. I think my inexperience didn't see the signs of dehydration and thinking about it now I should of moved her/him over the bowl to take a drink. But her/him being so close to the bowl I didn't think I needed to intervene..

Hi hungryghost.. I've had a look into the ICU ive set up for the GBB and it still looks the same as it did this morning. Still in the death curl and hasn't moved.
I have a B.Emilia too and have only seen her twice since getting her. I haven't seen her drink or eat either but all the food I do put in her enclosure has vanished and there seems to be substrate being moved around the enclosure.

Thanks for stopping by
Sym
