@PamCz I wonder why they think we like to see their butts lol. At least my pretty O. diamantinensis likes to show off, always on top of the web in full view and never runs away, so I can open its container to get some decent pics.

@Enn49 HAHA! I always wonder why people of the human persuasion think we like to see their butts (or, worse, their cracks!)...lol

Seriously, tho....I don't know if the T is scared, stupid, or both. But.....it's webbing, eating, moving around in the middle of the night. What am I supposed to do? Nothing, except feed it and learn to love it's butt view. :D hahaha.....

Edit to add: yes...my GBB (closest to your O. dia) hangs out and I can get pics. That one's prettier anyway. ;)

So far *touch wood* I'm lucky with mine. Apart from my T. Gigas, they're all out and about most of the time, even my B. Boehmei who used to be a proper pet hole. I'm well chuffed about my A. Versicolor, aka the Bi-atch, lol. She's always sitting right at the door of her tank, jumping at anyone coming too close. That said, I've moved 2 (LP and Gigas) into bigger enclosures today, so they might go into hiding now...

@PamCz At least we see them even if it is just their butts. I have 2 N. chromatus that I haven't seen since they came 2 months ago lol.

@Fuzzball79 Your LP will stay on top once it grows, mine were 2-3'' when they stopped digging. The G. rosea is the worst, it sits in its water bowl as if to say ''fill it'' but then dives for the open door if I try so there it sits until it gets fed up and wanders off then I can fill it..

Yes, and that is called "learning to love the butt view!" Cu it's better than NO view..haha

My LP still hangs out underground 95% of the time, at 3"! I'm hoping with the next impending molt (hopefully w/in a week, as the butt's getting pretty dark), when I rehouse it to a larger enclosure, it'll stay out more, rather than start a new burrow. I'll give it a hide, so I hope that suffices.

One of mine dug like crazy and ended up living on the bottom of the container and it took that one longer to surface but now it lives on top of the hide or up the side of the tub. The other used the hide, only clearing out enough substrate to fit in, when it was small but now it sits on it.

So far the LP sling is scooting around on the surface, exploring its new bigger home. It didn't dig in it's old tub, so maybe it's just not a burrower.
The T. Gigas is still sitting inside the old tub lid. He/she must be sulking, lol.

My LP didn't burrow in its old tub, but I put that down to the tub being quite opaque. So far it's scooting around, exploring its new home.

Another moult from my C. bertae, Inca. This is its 3rd moult in the 4 months I've had it and I think it's time for a bigger home.

Topping up water bowls tonight I found Sasquatch, the I. hirsutum, in its new web right at the top of the container. Carefully opening the lid I was surprised that it didn't run as usual in fact the hairy one stayed perfectly still while I filled the bowl and then took a few pics.

C. perezmilesi, Beni, looks as though it's glowing red hot

N. sp Guyana, Arawak, has finally put in an appearance. I've barely seen it since I got it 5 and a half months ago but it appears to have moulted at some point, probably more than once which explains why its hole has got bigger too.

@Enn49 Yes...I suppose seeing it is better than not. But...it just sits there with its "face" buried & its butt sticking out. *sigh* Just...boring. :( lol
Here's my resident "butt"...since that's all I see. Maybe a rename to Derrière would be appropriate. ;)

@Enn49 -- I found the resident butt out and about today and was thinking, "I gotta tell Enn!" haha This is a couple weeks after a molt & it's beautiful! Finally, I got a good pic, so I thought I'd update you. :)

My adorable little E. sp red, Copper, moulted last night. When I did my late night check I thought it looked as though it had moulted but I couldn't see the old exo but checking this morning I spotted it - it's just so tiny :)

That sheet of paper is just 3''x3''

Tonight my H. sanguiniceps , Paria, has eaten its first small cricket. I had been feeding it a few pinheads at a time and they were all gone by morning so I thought it time to try, it didn't take long to grab it.

H. sp Colombia klein, Vita, has built itself a burrow which is in fact a mound and has hidden away since it came a month ago until last night. It looks freshly moulted but no sign of the old exo yet.
