Today's moult is my Ceratogyrus marshal, Shona. I can't wait to see how much its horn has grown. You can just see the T down the burrow bottom left.

This one is unfortunately a molting tragedy....my Poecilotheria lowland past away a few hours after molting. I also confirmed she was a female. :(View attachment 30374

I'm so sorry, it's so hard when that happens, first the joy of what appears a successful moult then the shock to find it dead :(.

It had to be something internal...as soon as she started curling I flipped her over and gave her a drop of water but I think she went quickly.

Ugh… That is rough man. So sorry to hear this. I know this day will eventually come for me too. Not looking forward to it.

My new gbb from Casey molted. I was a little concerned because she is the only one that hasn't eaten yet, but here is why:

I haven't been able to get a good pic of her since she molted, but I will. I'm bummed the the abdomen was all collapsed and stuck together like that. Casey thinks this one is female and I wanted to take pics and try to confirm. Next time...

Soak it in water with a drop of dish soap. Gove it 5 minutes and it’ll be plenty soft and you can carefully unroll it with toothpicks or some other small utensils.

My Sericopelma auratum molted few days ago, but I can't give you guys a pic just yet as the kid stays hidden :T:
The little kid also has an attitude and keeps kicking hairs even if you just happen to watch its delicup enclosure :D

This is why I worry myself sick when they molt. The next one of mine due to molt is known for frequent wet molts which are always fatal.

I earlier lost a female M balfouri sling due to fecal impaction.

When I rehoused my Chilobrachys huahini, Chiang Mai yesterday I found a moult down in the depths. I'm guessing it was a week or two ago as the T had disappeared for a few days around then.

My P striata male, aka Patrick, molted today. I got some pics & he's huge. He gained a lot of size this time around.

Heck, he's so big I might give him his first Earth worm in a week!! I have those little ones called red wigglers.

I might be sending him off to a breeder sooner then I thought.

Here's the molted skin. The warning color of the underside of the front legs are visible.

Here you can see him from a side view through the glass. Yes, pokies are famous for "befouling" glass and acrylic on various ways.

Here finally is the best head on view that I can get. I might try to get another angle later but I'm not opening the enclosure.

Update: I got 3 more at a slightly better angle.

Brachypelma hamorii, Popo, has moulted today

And my Crypsidromus sp. boquete, Chiriquí has finally flipped. It kept filling the bottom water bowl with substrate and sitting in it so I gave it another bowl (the yellow one) next to the old one 2 weeks ago but Chiriqui spent a whole afternoon dragging the new bowl over the old. I thought it was moult time then.

Ok ok. Here's a bonus pic of Mini me. I'll leave him in peace now.

I can't wait until he flips over!! From what I can see, he looks really sharp with deep new coloration. It's a shame that these guys don't really show the depth and subtlety of color in pictures.
