I had another moult last night, probably one of the scariest I've had to watch.

I found my little Ami sp. Panama, Palma, moulting upright.

Almost out but very twisted up. The red you can see is underside of her abdomen.

She's out and now on her back.

Relief this morning to find her the right way up and looking good,

Thank you, I was terrified in case she got stuck, I'd hate to lose her. She's a real sweetie and she's been with me 3 years from the tiniest little sling of around 0.25" she's now around 2", almost full grown.

My GBB sling molted for the first time since I got it. I have to admit I was a little stressed by the process since it hadn't taken any food since the day I got it and with the exception for the first 2 days I had it, I never saw it move a muscle (though I could tell by its position and webbing it was moving when I wasn't around). Now that it's molted I am hoping to start seeing more of what I understand to be typical GBB behavior. I am trying to preserve the molt the best I can so I can start a display board of any of its molts I manage to salvage.

I had a similar experience with our GBB sling and that it's not very active and stays in its web 99% of the time and seems unfazed by our presence or handling of its enclosure, but it obviously gets it around because there's more webbing everyday.

Also similarly, ours ate only once since we received it, and then refused food for about a month until it finally molted last week. I fed it a week after it molted and it ravenously devoured a hobbled cricket the same size as its own body. I found putting the food item in the web was very useful to trigger a feeding response.

My rarely seen Thrigmopoeus insignis, Sirsi, has moulted today and for once it was on top but because of all the webbing tjis was the best pic I could get, as soon as I tried to lift the lid it was away into the depths again.

My Pterinochilus lugardi sling molted yesterday.

It was quite amusing, because my wife was inspecting the enclosures whilst I was washing my hands in the bathroom, and she spotted the molt and started shouting to me that one of my tarantulas had died. I had a real moment of worry until I saw it was a molt. haha
This has happened to me soooooo many times…

"Um… Tom… I have some bad news about one of your spiders. I think its dead…"
