Now comes another hard part. Feeding or a better way of saying it is not feeding Ralphie. It is unknown how long since he molted and tarantulas should not eat right after a molt, as Nurse Ratchet stated. Keep water out and try to get a look at its fangs to see if they harden black. Depending on the age/size of the T people recommend waiting up to about 10 days, less for younger ones.

Thank, I will wait to feed him. He is still in the hideout so I haven't seen much. I'm not even sure it is a boy but I don't want to disturb anything yet.

Ralphie came out last night, beautiful and much bigger. My pictures didn't come out very well but here he is. I'm going to try to get the molt out today, I'm hoping to find out if it's a boy or girl. Fangs look healthy.

Great news! I read somewhere, maybe here, that some Ts absorb moisture/ nutrients from the molt. I am not sure how important that is. Then again we don't quite know when he molted. It could have been awhile ago. Maybe others will chime in.

This is what I found when I got it out, as you can probably see it's a hard shell. The fangs are visible. I have read a few things about sexing them, so I will see what I can find. Any help would be welcomed.

Soak the molt in warm soapy water for a few minutes. We need to see the inside of the abdominal area. Try to open it up gently without tearing it. Then we will be able to see if it has spermatheca present or not. :) No spermatheca = male. Spermatheca = female.
