Just got my first T, a G. Rosea, the lady I bought her from said she's about 2-3 years old. Is there a way to tell how old she really is? I have a ten gallon tank and coco substrate a fairly large hide, water dish and foliage. She seems to be very shy right now but I'm sure she's just getting settled in! Are Roseaore active at night? I'm really super new to this and would like some helpful hints! Is there anything I should change about her habitat? I'm thinking about adding more substrate so she doesn't hurt herself from falling and thinking about a heating pad or cables.

welcome aboard. definitely add a lot more substrate otherwise you seem to have a nice set up. Unfortunately there is no way to guess a tarantulas age, there are far too many variables.

Hi, great to have you! Like Nada said, do add more sub. When I first started with Ts I also used a 10-gallon tank and had to add quite a bit of sub to lower the height. Your set up is extremely attractive! I'd like to live there.

Thank you! And I will definitely do so. And I know an aloe plant is completely unnecessary but it's pleasing to my psyche.
