MY TARANTULA LOST A LEG

Good day all

Just a quick question. I have a female adult Brachypelma Klaasi who lost one of her legs. There is no hemolymph leaking and she is moving and eating normally. Will the missing limb eventually grow back or we she just have to do with 7 legs?

Thanks in advance.

Don't worry it will grow back although as she is adult it may take 2-3 moults to reach normal size.

You are about to witness one of natures true wonders. The missing leg will probably cause her no problems at all. So her next molt, if she is an adult, is a long way ahead for her. But T's can bring a molt forward, if a problem occurs that needs rectifying.

At your ladies next molt she will produce a thin leg & at the second molt. A good as normal, leg.

I have brought what one of the UK suppliers call a "Gimp Box." So a collection of T's with missing legs. Having a 7, or even 6 legged lady is nothing to worry about. Much worse happens in the wild & as I said losing a leg, produces one of natures wonders.
