Hi just got my First tarantula .. Anyone know if its a male or female ?

The only way to tell is by the molt,the other ways are not 100% except when there is sexual dimorphism.

Balfouri communals are awesome and they are one of the true communal T's.

M balfouri are good communal species and breed easily. U should have no problem . Remember they originate from Yemen (arid regions) so simulate their natural seasonal cycles in ur vivarium and all will go well.

I am same way. I started with a Pink Toe and now I have 17 T's Most recent additions are 2 P.Metallicas and 2 B Vagans. I love my T's the relax me. When my kids are acting demonic I go to my room and Care for the T's and it calms me down.

The molting was unexpected, and I couldn't remove it at that stage. I left her to molt,after the molt was completed I removed the cricket. Since I know that crickets do bite T's, but disturbing her there would do more bad than good.
