And like most I started out with a G.rosea. I know a few people recommend them for beginners because they're easy to care for and slow, and others do not because they can have mood swings and just kind of sit there.
But it'll be a perfect starter for me because I don't really plan on handling any tarantula all that much no matter how docile it is except on rare occasions.

Right now I'm having to use a bark wood substrate, but I know that's not preferred and the only reason I got it was because the pet store was out of other substrates. I plan on going by the other pet store today and find something a little more suitable.

She's pretty young. I'm not sure how old she is exactly, and I haven't officially measured her, but she appears to be about 1.5 to 2 inches. She was being sold for 16.99 but they had a sale and she was 12.99.

Not officially sure about the gender but I'm going with "she" for now. Her name is Anansi.

Thanks! I'll snap a picture of her when I'm changing the substrate in her cage. I bought some eco earth and I'm waiting for that to dry outside. I don't really want to mess with her until then, but she still seems pretty docile today :) Though she also seems like the standard "pet rock" type lol

I'm all ready contemplating on getting some more ^_^ I'm mostly interested in the slow beginners like the pink zebra beauty and the like.

I love the Avic Avics too :D
Not including my g.rosea, I really want an Avic Avic, the pink zebra beauty, and a euathlus sp.

Avicularia. Versicolors have very vibrant colors, if you can find one for cheap they are just beautiful. As for Euathlus, I'm not a huge fan of the dwarf T's.

I've seen people refer to them as avic avic for short so it's fine.

Aaaanyhoo, here's some pics of my little one. I haven't officially measured, but I think she's around 2in.

A.Avics is just one Tarantula. Avicularia being the genus name. So Avic Avic is a pink toe, Avic Versicolor is an antilles pink toe, Avic Metallica is a Metallic pink toe. So on and so forth.

Gorgeous T, however I'd add more substrate just incase it has a fall from the top. It could potentially harm the T if it was to fall on it's water bowl or something.

I know and that's the one in particular I want XD

I'll add some once the rest has dried.
