I have a king baboon sling about the size of a dime. The problem is that I been feeding him crickets about 1/4" long + he? seems to afraid of them should I kill the crickets first ? The guy I got him from said he was feeding that size with know problems also how much does the amount you feed affect how often a sling will moult? My other slings are doing fine. But I always wanted a king baboon + I don't want anything to happen to it. Can a cricket that small hurt it? I know large crickets can sometimes injure larger spiders. Thanks Lanny

i dont know how big a dime is but i can only guess...1/4" cricket is fine. You can feed it 2-3 times a week. how often it molts depends on the sp, temperature, how often you feed it and so on, once a month is a good guess i'd say.

In General, I have 8 or 9 females 5-8.5" and a dozen or so slings. They're just not big eaters.

How often will a K B sling moult. I was under the impression that they moulted once a month when they were small.

It's so situational that there really isnt any legit answers to it, 1 month is a good estimate though

Thanks for the advise. I saw it eat a few crickets so I doubt that it's staving. Like I said in my intro I've had Ts before + most were slings. I even raised up some 2nd instar B. Smithis. It's just that I got out of the hobby around 2000 so I can't remember a lot of what I knew. I don't want any of my Ts to expire so I'll be on this forum a lot. Maybe I'll be able to help a noobie. I also have snakes + I bred a couple of different species
