I was thinking of getting a tarantula

So I used to have a Leopard Gecko and a Corn Snake but I ended up selling them thinking we were going to move, which we never did and now I really want a pet again and my biology teacher has a tarantula and it really fascinated me. So any good beginner tarantulas that are semi active (I had a leopard gecko, I'm used to low activity) and that looks good? Also anything I should know about tarantulas that would be really helpful to a beginner? Maybe some links to a few care sheets? Thanks in advance.

leopard Geckos are way more active than your average tarantula.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what interests you and we may be able to make some suggestions. You said "my biology teacher" which suggests you may be a minor, How old are you ?

I just like cool things really, and yes I'm a minor I'm 15. I really just enjoy things that look good, handling and activity really isn't a big thing

As a 15 year old I'd suggest consulting your parents and directing them here. That said there are a number of tarantulas that would fit the bill.
A Grammostola Pulchripes may be the best bet. They're large, Hardy, and very tolerant of people. They're also great display animals.

Thanks for the help, but my parents don't mind as long as no one dies and I pay for it, any other breeds you can suggest?

Sorry for double posting, I know some forums don't like it but would a Grammostola Rosea be good as well?

Rosea are a great sp and the most common starter T but personally I'm not a fan of them as a 1st T. They're very unpredictable, and can definitely make a new keeper sweat.
Other species are; E.Campestratus (Pink Zebra) A.Avicularia (Guyana Pink Toe) A.Metallica (Metallic Pink toe) all would work well.

I agree with Kenny there, my first T was a Metallic Pink Toe and I would advise anyone to get one as your first T!!! They are AMAZING!!! I love my little guy:) these T's are Arboreal Tarantulas (also known as a tree spider), they like to be up high rather than on the ground. They are super duper easy to care for, as long as you have nice soft Coco Fiber substrate in your tank, a water dish, some decor...your all set!! I feed mine crickets, meal worms, and soon dubia roaches. Also Pink Toes spin a beautiful big web. I also own a Rose Hair, and like Kenny said they are very unpredictable, I'm not saying they are a bad T, but I wouldn't recommend owning one as your first. Hope this helps! And if you have any other questions were all here to help! :)

Ok thanks guys, well I think I like the A. Metallica. I will read up on it and learn everything before I buy, I don't like when people get a pet and don't know anything about it and then have it die. I couldn't handle my new pet dying, I love animals and pets too much. Thanks so much.

Pink Toe or Rosehair for sure! Make sure it is old enough though as the younger ones tend to get sick or die easier in my experience...
