Newbee here but have always respected and enjoyed watching spiders..especially the little jumping spiders...looking to start out with a few slings, one terrestrial and one arboreal.
Welcome to the forum, and soon the hobby!

What species are you thinking about?

ones that like 70 - 75 F and not too humid...and any that dont hide 24/7...more like 12/7
and especially ones that dont kick hairs like my girlfriends OBT
So basically any OW (old world) or arboreal. Avoid fossorials and anything too spicy

If you do your research well, and are conscious and thoughtful in your keeping you can keep any species

If you don't mind me asking, why no "hair kickers"? They often don't kick hairs...

Greetings and welcome aboard!

Mileage may vary, but mine are all terrestrial (and one fossorial) and most of them don't kick. My B. smithi kicks hair all the time and for no apparent reason. The rest of them are super chill. My A. chalcodes kicked once or twice but never when I was getting into her enclosure? Who knows what goes on inside their heads?
