Welcome!

Glad to someone doing research before the purchase.

Ask specific questions if you have any but there is no substitute for research and planning.

What species are you most interested in?

I would recommend you find a local source of feeders regardless of what T you choose, feeder insect don't keep very long

Hello & welcome to the hobby & the forum.

My advice would be, avoid videos, unless they are Tom Moran's, or a few others. As far too many who make videos are not really concerned about, or know anything about, the T's. They are more concerned about the number of hit's they get, rather than about the quality of the information.

Care plan wise, if you read them, read them with caution. And book wise, remember the Tarantula Keepers Guide is VERY out of date husbandry wise.

Humidity is like a human. It is much more than a number. Don't try & chase a humidity number. As humidity is the result of the correct husbandry, not a separate entity. And the three hygrometer's that I have sitting on my mantelpiece all constantly show different numbers. So even if someone does chase a number, how do they know if they have achieved it or not?
