Gorgeous Avic, I'd look into getting a replacement top for you're enclosure though especially for an Avic they like to be up high. That mesh stuff they can get thier feet caught in, there has also been a few T's managed to chew through that stuff and escape. You can take measurements of the removable piece and get a piece of acrylic cut to size and drill some ventilation, Or I think there are people who make custom tops you could give that a search.Finely decided to let me get some topside pics.
There are plenty of cases where these have been no issues at all for people but the fact that it happens and you can prevent it with something simple Its a good thing to get changed.Thank you for the heads up. I will have to look into that. I don't want her to get hurt. Seems like it's time to hit up the hardware store.

I do agree. It's a simple fix. I appreciate the heads up. I had no idea. This is my first T and I want her to have a safe enclosure. There are plenty of cases where these have been no issues at all for people but the fact that it happens and you can prevent it with something simple Its a good thing to get changed.
You're doing great so far setup looks good. Do you have a water dish? There a necessity for Avics I usually use 2 for them when there that size have one on the floor and glue one half way up somewhere.I do agree. It's a simple fix. I appreciate the heads up. Yeah that will work. As long as you have one that's fine I just like having 2 for the avic family, quite a few people do the same though.I have a large one on the floor. Do you think it would use a suction cup style like for arboreal lizards?
I also have a crested gecko so I have those suction cup loops everywhere. I'll put one up at about 2/3 the hight of the tank and see if she likes it. If I take a front pic of the enclosure would you mind checking it out?Yeah that will work. No problem at all, from what you're saying though it sounds great.I also have a crested gecko so I have those suction cup loops everywhere. I'll put one up at about 2/3 the hight of the tank and see if she likes it. If I take a front pic of the enclosure would you mind checking it out?
All looks good setup wise, though I have spotted something. I thought that had doors which would then have ventilation under them creating cross ventilation (cross is created by ventilation at substrate level and ventilation at the top). Cross ventilation is good for these guys, with that only being top opening there is no air flowing. So not ideal. If you are going to use it though let the substrate completely dry out and only use water dishes to minimise stagnant air. Having a fan or something running relatively close to it can help too. Ideally you want a different enclosure that has cross ventilation. Don't worry you can put something else in there would be ideal for something out the Psalmopoeus or Tapinauchenius genus, this also gives you experience if you're ever looking to get into old world T's as there a faster than the normal new world T's.That is such a cool idea. That is awsome. If you don't mind looking though I would like to hear your ideas.
Not sure what you will have available to you but something 30x30x45cm (12x12x18inches) that has front opening doors, these will tend to have ventilation at the bottom of the doors and on top of the enclosure. Or you can go to a local container store and get a scaled up version of one of these and you just drill holes where you want the ventilation.Thank you for your insight. I guess instead of fixing the lid I'll be looking into another tank. Do you have any sagestions as to what type works well?
I'll check the store. Seems like you can have a little more creative freedom if you build your own. Is it ok to use hot glue in a enclosure? Not sure what you will have available to you but something 30x30x45cm (12x12x18inches) that has front opening doors, these will tend to have ventilation at the bottom of the doors and on top of the enclosure. Yeah hot glue is fine, try to avoid things like super glue which has strong fumes, yeah the majority of my enclosure are all home made. Every time I'm out shopping I'm constantly checking things to see if they can be used as an enclosure.I'll check the store. That is smart. A person could make a very nice enclosure and built right for your particular species. If a person could build a substrate wall would it be ok to invert the container?Yeah hot glue is fine, try to avoid things like super glue which has strong fumes, yeah the majority of my enclosure are all home made.
