Feeding wild-caught insects to tarantulas?

I would love to feed my T wild-caught food...I used to do it all the time when I kept scorpions and lizards. However, I've read that it is very risky because of the possibility that wild insects have come in contact with pesticides that could harm Ts. What is your take on this?

I wouldn't risk it for the reasons you already mentioned. Not to mention the risk of parasites as well.

not only could they have pesticide but they can also carry parasites or other unknown illness, not to mention if you are unfamiliar with the insect in question they could be toxic when ingested. this happen to somebody who lives in Australia not to long ago. had capture a funnel web sling and one day decided to feed it a moth from outside. long story short after an hour since feeding the moth. the spider suddenly began showing sign that something was wrong and after about a week of no improvement once put into ICU died.
