K, so our B. Emilia was walking around and then climbed the tank.. THEN went completely upside down and is walking the top. If it falls it'll fall straight down on its back. Does it know what its doing and should i remain calm? Could it possibly not know how to get off the top?

she should be ok as long as there is enough substrate if she does fall.

it did come down after about 10min or so but was like it didnt know how.... then it started to climb again and fell into the water dish :(
got out and started to try and climb again but i took the opportunity to scare it into its log and then filled it up with more dirt. Alot more.
Theres no ruptures or fluids leaking but it did lose her balance from a short distance 2 more times since then.
Its really weird. I tried to get it to go under log again and it ran towards me and then climbed higher everytime i tried to open the tank. Im just leaving it alone now.

holy crazy legs! >_<
*Note to self!
Next time i think the tarantula may have passed away, do not, i REPEAT, DO NOT STICK ANYTHING IN THERE AND TOUCH IT!
This 8 legged freak hasnt been acting right all night lastnight and today... then he lays on his side on the log against the glass and doesnt move for 45min to an hour.. i jiggled the lid to the cage.. nothing.. no movement.. touched his leg with a cooking utensil.. nothing.. so i tried again, all sad and **** thinking his lil fuzzy lfe was over and i swear on everything i love this fool did some backflip type of thing and with all 8 legs attacked the utensil at the speed of light! I screamed and jumped, my daughter alexia jumped, then started cracking up..
That fool had lightning speed.. maaan, my heart still aint right -_-
he did some bruce lee karate **** with all his legs!

i have another question, i was worried it may have got DKS.. is it possible? After it went kung fu on me it climbed the glass a little again, but has 2 back legs on the log, like its standing. But no movement, just chillin. When they have DKS is it a constant episode? Like constant eratic behavior? Maybe im over reacting.

DKS normally looks like they are dancing. The position he's in looks normal to me. My B. smithi hangs out on top of her hide like that quite often.

Ok. Thank you.
The only weirdish thing he's doing is like jumping off the glass when he climbs it. I thought he kept falling but now I think he's jumping.

How long have you had it? Are it's conditions met? Does it have bone dry substrate? Is it packed down enough?

Sometimes my LP doesn't move for days. Unless it's legs are curled underneath it and it's abdomen looks shriveled there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

We've had it since April, humidity and everything is fine, substrate was dry til he started jumping earlier and I added more to make it higher and that was a little moist. But I've done that before and everything was fine.

Its the same substrate I've always used.

Could he be looking for a mate? I'm not entirely sure its male though. We recently noticed a patch of webbing on the sub under its log too. Could that mean anything? Lol

It doesn't really look like a mature male to me, but the pictures aren't the best. So I don't think it would be searching for a mate. My spiders will web up their hides, so that sounds perfectly normal. Honestly other then the damp substrate I can't see any reason as to why it would be wandering around. Maybe it's just exploring? As long as it can't get its feet caught in the top lid I wouldn't worry too much. It will calm down when it's ready.

Okay, thanks everyone. I was really freaking out thinking it was dying. I was literally almost in tears and I'm terrified of spiders but quite attached to this lil fella
