Haha, maybe visit an egg farm ?

Haha! Yes, actually I have a few in my area. Despite what many think when they hear "New York", CNY and especially upstate Ny, is abundant with open spaces and many farms, some chicken farms, most dairy farms, one of which I actually worked for a few years. And, truth be told, I'm a Social Worker with a specialized degree in addiction therapy, but by far this was my favorite job of all :). I"m going to touch base with some farms and see what they can do. :)

Also use of a red light is fine for roaches, that's currently how I heat mine. Thinking about switching to a space heater this winter though.

I just switched to a 100 watt ceramic heater I have. Had to think for a minute about the winter coming up and how it might impact my bill to have 4 tanks with 100 watt IR or CHE bulbs and decided I could put on an extra bodice :) Isn't it crazy the way we fuss over something that most people would wiggle and scream and dance the polka in a tight little circle on their divan if they ever saw them walk across their living room floor? I mean, for me, if I saw a roach cross my floor now, I'd be like "hmmm….. I wonder if my T's or Scorps would like to munch on them?" and then scoop it up and put it in a tupperware until I could post it on these boards and get opinions or info back :)

Yeah I hear ya on the electricity, I've usually got 3-4 heat lamps of various wattages and a couple heat pads running in the critter room24/7 in the winter. Thinking the space heater should be a bit more efficient.

Hello
You could lay down oats or oatmeal as a substrate, which they will actually eat and then add oranges or other fruits with high water content. You could also use water crystals, but I prefer the fruit.
when i seen you posted this i started to do this. i wish i know while back cause they are so gut loaded its fantastic
