This would be a nice fun thread to see who has communals, what they are, how its going and if you have any advice. Plus what your future attempts will be.

I currently have 2 communal projects.

4x P fasciata
Deaths: 0
Tips: dont make the enclosure to big else this might lead to territorial behaviour.

5x M balfouri
Deaths: 0
Tips: still early days so I cant tell you guys much... all I have noticed is them huddling together in the same burrow... truly one of the best communal tarantulas around.

2x P regalis (MF and MM)
Deaths: 0
Tips: I put them together for mating and just decided to leave them together. This is maybe 3 months already... just once seen semi conflict between them. Male taps on a regular basis. Also just keeps them fed and in this case the enclosure is nice and big...

Had...

4x H gigas
Deaths: 0
Tips: feed them regularly and all will be fine. Sold them before maturity. Heard that is when the problems start.

Wish list

Pokie communals... the more the better... :D

Time for you guys and gals to start sharing

I tried to start an Avic. avic. communal some years back, had 4 3-3.5" in a 30 gal. 3 females and one male, but before i could get any experience with it, i had to part ways with most of my collection. I had them housed together for about a month or so, without issue, I kept prey items available, since they all seemed to be on different feeding schedule...

I was reading some stuff that said A. Avics did not make great communal T's, even though stated that they are indeed communal T's. I get a lot of mixed information on the interwebs. I'm not sure I'd ever risk it to be honest. But each to their own and I wish you the best of luck with said venture.

I'm still way newb at this. :p

They're not really communal.. but when I was attempting, people were having some success in keeping them together, I was given some avics and had a 30 gallon laying around and figured id give it a go.. I wouldn't do it now... not worth them eating each other :(

I personally don't have any communal set ups, and never will. It just doesn't appeal to me, and imo not worth the risk. That's not to say it can't be done; it absolutely can, and I've seen some incredible ones. I'd love to see pics of yours, Charlie.

How long have your fasciata been together? I've heard that subfusca can be kept together?
