I got my two new slings today.
No. 1 (actually no. 7 in total): P. Metallica 2cm. My first OW and I have decided to go for a sling to practically grow with it.

No 2 (8) is a L. Parahybana sling. Now this was advertised as 1cm, but I don't think it comes close to it. I admit I'm quite nervous about its size, but if they grow the way they are meant to I'm sure I'll be fine. Unfortunately I can't take pictures yet as I don't have a super macro lens (yet).

Congratulations, 2 great choices.

Don't worry about the L. parahybana they're tough, great feeders and their growth rate is amazing.

I've just ordered some Red Runner nymphs to adult size. Surely the nymphs at 2mm will be small enough. It's a lively little thing, I had it crawl all over my hand while my husband was getting a smaller tub for it. Probably the first and last time I've held an LP.

I keep a small colony of red runners and even my smallest sling takes the nymphs no problem.
Oh and congrats on the new additions.

Both slings have now had their first meal. The P. Metallica almost immediately pounced on its cricket and didn't take long to devour it.
I found a tiny cricket for the LP, but when I put it in alive the sling ran away from it. I ended up killing the prey and this morning found the sling doing the "tiptoed webbing dance".

All this talk of Christmas Ts has made me want more so I have just ordered 2 more B. albopilosums slings, both just half an inch. It's a good job I have just bought some new containers. :T: .

Grrr! I got the Turkistan roaches today and the nymphs that were supposed to be 2mm are bigger than the spider itself. I put the smallest one I could find in, but the spiderling just ran away from it, so I "disabled" it (the roach, not the spider, lol) and left it. Hopefully it'll find it over night. What is it with me and sizes, lol???

Another pic of my P. Metallica. I don't think it has settled in properly yet, as it's never hiding and hasn't webbed much yet neither.

On an unrelated note:
My T. Gigas has finally molted. It doesn't look much bigger but the colours are brighter. It pushed the molt out of its web, very tidy spider, lol.

Hello
Still a tiny P.met, give it time. Usually the pokies will burrow as slings. Luckily with me mine webbed at the top,so keep us up to date. As for the molt, the tiny ones are so cute haha.
