My little Antilles Pinktoe spun a little hammock / coocoon web a few nights ago and motled, i checked in her today and she was in death curl, abdomen bent to the left, and definately dead :( She was fine beforehand, very lively, temps and humidity ok. I was really looking forward to watching her grow. Maybe i should get a bigger one next time :( She was the prettiest little critter!

Unfortunately, if your in the hobby long enough its only a matter of time before you get a bad moult. I've had 3 in 15+ years, and it's a bummer every time. Sorry about your Versi.. :(

Thanks :( She was fine before molting but i was a little worried about it happening as she was so little. I'm just going to spend a bit more and get a more mature one!

I'm new to all this. What's the deal with molting? It's really hard on their bodies?

Molting is what they do when they grow. It takes a lot of resources, and makes them vulnerable. Most healthy T's do just fine with it. Occasionally, as with MCL's avic, things go wrong...

Mine appeared to get stuck as the old skin was still attached to her, and being so small and fragile there is nothing you can do. I'm looking for an adult or sub adult now and hope to hear something in the next few days!
