Easy to care for. Adults are kept dry with a water dish. They can be kickers, but not bad. My girl is very calm most of the time.

She has molted recently and the missing palp has regenerated.

The slings I have had are skittish, and bolt for cover when disturbed. They are cared for like a typical sling, keep the sub moist, feed once or twice a week, provide a water dish if the sling 1-1.5" or more.

Not so much like they are tropical, but the sub should be moist. Most tarantulas develop the waterproof cuticle layer around 7th instar.

You will love the smithi...they are awesome! :) My juvenile female (in my profile pic) is very laid-back for the most part and quite docile. Since her recent molt she has been a bit more prone to darting but she has never shown any signs of being defensive/aggressive. I handle her very easily. Smithis are very easy to care for, too. ;) Enjoy!!

I think we should start a Mexican Red Knee fan club. Its impossible not to fall in love with them. Mine are all really dozy.
