    Bone decor

Well she's an avic, so I don't think the moisture could hurt her much. Plus I have more than enough ventilation so that shouldn't be a problem for her, but can the bone like mold because of to much moisture?

    Bone decor

Hey guys, I just have a question about using bones as a decor for tarantulas. I have a bone (I made sure it is totally clean and sanitary, so don't worry about that) that I used in an A. diversipes enclosure. The humidity seems to be causing the bone to have a yellowish coloration and have a...

    Shell hides

SO I just have a quick question about hides. I found a shell on the beach that is the perfect size and shape for a hide, and I've boiled it to sterilize it. The only thing I'm worried about, though, is the danger of the shell cutting my T and hurting it. If I used this as a hide, would there be...

    Double molt? Or just fasting?

I understand the chaco golden knee is a desert species though so maybe I should spray less frequently? Also, at this age can I put in some kind of water bowl? Like a bottle cap with water and gravel in it to prevent drowning?

    Double molt? Or just fasting?

Okay, thank you! I've been offering food almost daily, so I guess that is not good. I'll give him a break. and yes, the molt went great! I was a little worried at first that he wouldn't have enough room molting in his hide, but it turned out great. He was about 3/4 inches from fang to anus and...

    Double molt? Or just fasting?

So my G. pulchripes sling just molted for the first time in my possession (Also my first tarantula, so it is the first molt I've experienced, pretty exciting.) and it has been a little over 2 weeks since the molt and he (was able to sex him with a microscope) is still not eating! I would say he...

    MOLTING!!

Okay, shes all done and shes flipped back over, I still can't get a good look at her though. The molt was successful! :)

    MOLTING!!

My G. Pulchripes has been in pre-molt for quite sometime now, and I just checked on her and she's finally molting for the first time since I got her! I would post a pic, but the position her enclosure is in right now won't allow it, and I don't want to risk moving her. But I'll be sure to post...

    My First Sling!

Wow isn't it so cool that just finding a little crab spider can lead to joining a whole new hobby and community? I've been so fascinated with spiders all my life and just got my first T a couple weeks ago.

I didn't chose the tarantula life. The tarantula life chose me.

Oh yeah, I was going to post a pic of little Ursa. Here she is! Also, I'm thinking about getting an A. purpurea, although I understand that arboreal species require attentive care when it comes to misting and humidity. Do you guys think a beginner like me could handle it?

I didn't chose the tarantula life. The tarantula life chose me.

Hello everybody! This isn't my first post, I've been here for about three weeks, and now I want to introduce myself. I have one tarantula, she is a chaco golden knee sling, about 3/4 inches from fang to anus and 1 1/4 legspan. Her name is Ursa and I've had her for... 4 weeks about? Not really...

    Which Ones?

I would go for the three. But it depends if you already have those species. I would say if you have 2/3 of those species already, go for the bird eater instead. Unless you already have that kind too. Basically, get whatever gets you more new species of Ts.

    Eureka, signs of movement!

Oh, this makes me so happy. I was getting really worried, I've been following your other thread the whole time, I was hoping for a happy ending. And no, I'm sure you have not jinxed it. Good luck! :)
