Had a mature male H. pulchripes start molting. You can see the hooks on the molt. This doesn’t happen very often and typically the male does not survive the molt.

He did not survive. No injuries that I am aware of. Ive heard of mature males molting but this is the first time I have had experience with it personally.Did he survive?
Interesting that he would molt again. Maybe he had an internal injury that triggered the molt?

He is a lovely boy these guys grow very large, I know many species have mature males at very small size but lasiodora parahybana males get really large very close to size of mature femaleDora, the Lasiodora parahybana, has molted today.
Hes a boy, so will be renamed Laslo.

I love rose hairs I know they are not the best new world choice for handling but still make great beginner species, I love grammostola speciesTilda, my 14 year old Grammastola rosea molted today.
