both are great T but I say the LP since you say you are skiddish about ordering online there cheap and they get to be a massive spider

I would suggest the same as Anthony,they are hardy so it takes a lot to actually see one of these die. If going for lasiodora,if there is a choice in specimens first get the Lp and next try a lasiodora Klugi matches the parahybana in size and is more bulky etc.
I was leaning the same way. I think it will be awesome to watch the LP go from sling to adult hood. Since I am new to the hobby I was reluctant to get slings but I am doing well with my small fast true spider, so I think I'm ready. 
That plus the reptile expo was a bust since my boyfriend rescued a snake that had mites. I had to move my T's to the opposite side of the house while we were treating the snake. Now that everything is cleared up I am itching for a T.

I vote LP as well, they are tough as nails and won't be slings for long
