I would be tempted to get a P. Metallica as they are surely one of the most beautiful spiders around, but I don't feel confident enough yet (only just started with Ts a while ago), especially after reading a bite report.
That said, IMHO, as long as you're confident (not cocky), prepare yourself with knowledge and respect the species you should be able to cope.
Another great old world and apparently a lot of fun to own (if you treat it as a display only) is the OBT.
I have an OBT and a p.metallica. My OBT is a burrower and the most I have seen of her in the last year is the tips of her legs through the wall of her enclosure and when I'm gathering the molts she leaves for me. She was tough to get into her enclosure, and I made it big enough for her to be in for a good long time so I don't have to do that again! My p.metallica is a gorgeous girl, quick though. She is the most beautiful one I own and I've never really had an issue with her. I respect her speed and am always careful when I stick tongs or fingers into her enclosure. Either would be a good choice, if you get them as slings you could accumulate the experience you need to have by the time they're adults.
Good choice! Don't be disappointed in the slings, they're brownish and kind of plain looking. But each molt they get bluer and bluer, mine is now a gorgeous blue juvenile but I can tell she's going to get more beautiful still. Today she was running laps in her enclosure. . Never a dull moment with my collection!
