Hi guys

My T is sat in the top corner of his enclosure and is sat still I recently put him in a new home and didnt change anything from the last one only the size. Also I've only just found out about needing cross ventilation and wanted to put him in an enclosure with this but ive only just moved him in is it too soon or should I put him in one with cross ventilation?

We need to know what species of T you have. If it's a desert T then it is far too moist in there.

It's an xenesthis sp blue large sling

I've not kept one but looking at your photo then yes, it looks as though you could do with some ventilation holes. You just need to get the T into a catch cup to house it for the time it takes to ventilate the container.

You could also use a very gentle fan or a small aquarium sir pump with a small tube that runs for an hour or so every day. You would definitely want to use one of those diffuser stones, maybe even placed in the waterdish. That would in theory generate both humidity and air circulation. A valve could be used to limit it to a very small amount of air.

I knoe those tiny USB fans will work. I had to use one of those when my C versicolor sling was very small and had to much moisture in it's cage.

I had read an older caresheet. It worked great. in fact, the T would walk in front of the air holes in the path of the breeze.

I saw a set up like that with a fellow that had H gigas. Of course, those can swim and catch fish which most others don't do, but the point is that it was safe for the tarantula. I can't seem to be able to find the video again however....
