Tarantula safe bug repellent?

There have been so many flies in my apartment lately and it’s really bugging me! Are there any bug repellents that are safe around Ts?

More arboreal T's. Fewer enclosures. Problem solved.

Sarcasm aside, fly paper and electric bug zappers are your only safe bets. There are also UV light/fly paper combo things that are a best-of-both-worlds solution.

Stay away from chemicals. Some insecticides are 10,000X more toxic to spiders than they are to insects. (And that's a real number, not just me exaggerating for effect.) Any chemical you introduce into the apartment poses a threat to your T's.

Stick (pun intended) to physical methods for the sake of your little friends.

Thank you! Summertime is a real pain in the butt when it comes to invader bugs in my apartment.
I wasn’t thinking of using any insecticides anyway, I don’t even use air fresheners, candles, or oil diffusers after I got Pippy my B. Boehmei

For flies I stick ( no pun intended) maybe) to fly paper! For ants I use traps. D

Accidentally hit post! Remove the ant traps when ants gone! Get paranoid that they might come out before dying and go in an enclosure and maybe cause an issue. But have had none to date and the ant invasion abated!

I feel pretty lucky cause ive nevet had ants!! Just the occasional wolf spider or grass spider, annoying fly, or moth.

For ants I've become fond of diatomaceous earth. Not as quick as traps but seems to get the job done after a few days.

The ants truly caused some panic! Got into some of my smaller T's enclosures but all were good! Think the ants were after water and detritus possibly. If they had kept coming that probably would have changed! Traps did the job and all is well!

Are there any ant traps just incase that are safe around my mammalian friends? Sometimes my cats or dogs visit my apartment and im afraid they’d get poisoned

Had a cat around the ant traps and he never showed interest in them. Put I'm sure some cat/ dog somewhere might have. Might be one of those case by case situations. I guess best practice would be to put the traps where it's not so easy to access them but still get the job done! Lol. Happy Spoodering!
