My son called said the genic was out of his hide finally. And sent me a pic of our 7 legged friend. Guess his molt didn't go well and that's why the exo was trashed.

yeah it's gorgeous :) and i'm hoping this means s/he will be more visible since it's out and about now. Might have to powerfeed it to help bring an early repair molt.

Woo hoo! Much to my surprise I came home today to a freshly molted G Pulchripes sling! The first successful molt since I've had him. Can't see him yet he's still in his burrow but his molted skin is blocking my vue!

The next question is, how long do you wait to feed them? I've read that slings harden up faster than older T's!
Congrats on the molt! Most keepers wait a week or so for slings before feeding. Very small slings can harden in a matter of days and larger T's can take multiple weeks.

agreed. I give my tiny slings 3-5, checking to make sure the fangs are solid black before feeding. The 2 larger slings i give a week. My chalcodes juvie hasn't molted yet but i figure a good 7-10 days when she does will suffice.

One of my B. smithi moulted recently and it just flipped over in the corner of its container with no hole not even a web mat
Must be a Brachy thing. My Boehmei never spun any molt mat neither and did it just out in the open. Overconfident beggars lol... or just lazy?

None of my T's have ever made a molt mat. THey're all burrowed under though when they molt so maybe they do and i cna't see it and they destroy it pushing the molt out. The smaller B. albo still hasn't pushed his molt up yet, I found my son about ready to dig into the enclosure to get it lol. Couldn't blame him, i've had to resist that temptation numerous times already ;) But if Moe doesn't push the molt out soon i will have to go in for it so it won't mold.

All 3 of my B. albos did that as slings but as they've got bigger they just moult on the surface. The 2 B. smithis have never burrowed or made mats and just flip where they happen to be when the urge comes..

My G Pulchripes borrowed at the edge of it's enclosure so luckily I can watch it. It molted yesterday and I'm guessing it's resting to regain it's strength at the moment but I don't know all of it's habits yet. I'm hoping he digs out in the next couple of days.

My albo molted again...don't quite understand why shes in such a hurry haven't been power feeding them ..
She finally looks like a T however, and shes got a bit of attitude at the moment , adorable, she was my first sling so she can be a mean brat if it pleases her :D
her fangs are already dark so moved her to a small KK I had
this is before moving, shes got burrow sub on her lol
Makes me a little sad, my mom picked this one for me, wish she had lived to see her get her hairs :|
