Yay! My GBB is eating again. I tried again tonight with a wax worm (crushed its head, so it couldn't dig in) and the spiderling took it nearly straight away.
It must have been suffering from post-molt stress or something.

Its legs are looking really dark, too, almost black. I hope there's not something wrong internally :(, would hate to lose it.
If you're meaning your GBB that's a sign of premolt. Rather than the abdomen darkening like a Brachy, the GBB legs go black. I've seen this on the last 2 molts ours has gone through and didn't see any visible change in the abdomen.

My Hentzi has refused food two weeks after the molt now. I'll wait a third. When I fed her a stag beetles she attacked with extreme power and speed, that's what I'm waiting for. All of my darkling beetles died, so did the mealworms, I have two roaches left. I know she won't take it if she shows any sign of hesitation. Usually she attacks like a GBB. My local breeder has wax worms, superworms, and I think a large type of beetle larva that I have yet to see. I'd only try super worms if she was out in the open. I hope this isn't a skittish post-molt personality change. Worry, worry, worry all the time................when will it molt?, why is it on it's back?, will it pull through? Why won't it eat? worry worry all the time. ;)

It had only just molted 2 weeks prior to when I wrote this.
It all seems to be good though now. It took a pre-killed wax worm last night :).

So you're tellin us your power feeding? ;) how big is the GBB? I've probably already asked that before lol. Ours molted every 4-5 weeks until it was roughly 1.5" or so.

No, not really lol. It's roughly about 1.5" DLS and gets fed once a week. I waited 2 weeks after its last molt and was just worried when it ignored the food, and/or slapped it away. It's just not like my GBB to pass on a meal, but it obviously hadn't been ready to eat yet.
As I wrote, it took the pre-killed wax worm, so I'll now wait another couple of days and maybe try with a life one.
It's molted every 6 weeks or so, so far, so not too fast or slow. I think the legs might just look darker because its adult colours are coming through more and more (and the shelf is in a bit of a dark spot lol).

Actually, besides the legs, the abdomen becomes shiny. I've taken a couple of shots of my GBB and mine is pretty much in premolt. :)

Nice! Glad she's eating. Mine won't take any prekilled food. She's been a hunter since day 1. Her fav right now is dubia roaches. I have to drop them on her web though or they burrow out of sight and she ignores them, or rather my son has to lol. We feed on Wednesdays, and sundays again for the tiny ones. Yesterday i found my son had forgotten to put the dubai on the web, either that or they were able to escape before becoming food. The GBB had 3 all snuggled up in the corner of her enclosure. I was able to pick up all 3 with a pair of olive tongs and drop them on her web. She went nuts to get to them :) and now she has some repair work on the web to keep her busy.

I've never noticed the abdomen on our GBB getting shiny at pre-molt. I'll have to watch for that this next time. The legs turning dark is what we've been going on. Anytime she refuses to eat we check the legs ;)

I'm going to wait until sunday to try feeding my A. Hentzi again. It'll be three weeks and two days after she molted by then. Maybe she'll take down the Dubia. She just seems to be sitting with legs outstretched more often than not, maybe she's trying to grow to T blondi size. lol There isn't any odd behavior that I can see, no cysts on the abdomen, or sitting curled up. It looks like the leg colors have came back with a nice solid darker contrast to the carapace. I wish she'd walk into the light, but it seems I've provided to good of a hide! Judging from past behavior if she's hungry, she'll wait at the entrance, or actively search at night. I plan on power feeding off and on throughout the year, to try and speed things up. In 2015 I wasn't able to feed her weekly, because the nearest pet store was 60 miles away, and I had other health issues getting in the way, which forced me to give away my bearded dragon. Whenever I saw the inside of the couple's house that were taking in my beardie, they had a whole living room converted to house 50 or so dragons! I only have enough room for a G. Pulchripes and that's about it. Seeing how they kept the dragons inspired me to take charge in the care of my spider, no matter the state of my mental or physical health, plus they offer feeders at a huge discount and I don't have to find wild caught insects anymore, On my own I managed to feed her a few times a month, usually on a diet of wild caught camel crickets. I just feel it wasn't nearly enough if I were serious about keeping a pet T again. Anyhow! When I see her attacking prey items again I'll feel relaxed.

Popo, my son's B. smithi has moulted, first moult of 2016.

5-19pm I spotted it on its back, no mat just flopped over in the front corner in full view

9-18pm. Out of its old exo but still on its back with the exo on top.

11-30pm. Back the right way up and showing more colour.

It's a bit off topic, I've seen these water bowls in pictures, I got a tiny one. Does anyone happen to know where to get these or maybe the name of them /brand name?

Looking for the specific ones in the picture though, I can get all kinds from webstores in my country but haven't found those specific ones. I got a mini version from tarantulabristol.co.uk at the same time i got my spider from them. However it didn't really have any brand name to it in their webshop.

Hopefully! My N. chromatus was in pre-molt for 25 days, and earlier today I saw him webbing in his burrow. Low and behold, here he is now on his back. :) Molts are always so exciting.
