Hi everyone,
Yesterday I purchased a sub adult female A.chalcodes from a locally owned pet shop that specialises in reptiles and inverts. The car journey was slightly rough so I assume that my tarantula is stressed due to this and her re-housing. However, as soon as she was coaxed into her new enclosure, she went straight to the side of the acrylic and clung there hiding her carapace with her front legs. I assumed nothing of it and left her alone to settle in and discover her hide. Although, she is still in this exact same position and place the next day and seems very stressed. Should I coax her into her hide to reduce her stress and make her fell more comfortable or should I leave her where she is?
Thanks for your help everyone!

Leave her. Any stress is far more likely to be the result of her coming from a pet shop & in effect, being rehoused twice in very quick succession, so that you could get her home. Rather than the journey it's self. For example, most T's do not get too stressed in the postal system, it is dark & they are in a nice tight spot, which is how they like it. So if possible reduce the stimulation in her environment. If possible, put her somewhere sightly darker & where she sees less movement around her.

With one of my T's, I simply put her on a low shelf & a then put a couple of boxes in front of the enclosure. The following day she was fine.

Thank you for your help! I will be sure to try this.

As others have said, leave the t alone. Feel free to post pictures of the set up!
Ok I will be sure to do so. Thanks for the help! The setup pics are below :)

This pic was taken moments after introducing her to the setup. (The cactus spines are rubber bye so pose no threat to the T).

you may be able to se her in this pic in the position that she has remained in since adding her to the setup.

Not to worry. Tarantulas can take days to settle into a new home. Not really sure if it is an issue but I avoid plants with spines whether real of fake. I really don't know if they can hurt themselves crawling over them. I do glue a large silk leaf onto the sides of the hides. I few of my ts seem to like sitting under them,

The ‘spines’ on the cactus are silicone and round tipped. Thanks for the concern though :)
