should i use a heat mat?

so i'm planning to get my tarantula's (and 1 scorpion) and since i live in the netherlands it can get a bit cold there, it's not too cold there right now though but still... should i use a heat mat if it gets cold?

Never underneath the enclosure. How cold are we talking about?? If you want to use one put it on one side of the tank...not the bottom! T's in nature burrow to escape heat. So no go for underneath. Happy Spoodering!

im talking about around 19/20 celsius or 66/68 fahrenheit when it's really cold most of the time it's warm enough though

Bit cool. No doubt your Spood would like a little higher ambient temp! Lucky enough I have a dedicated room and just use a oil filled space heater. The mat can be used just not under the enclosure and never heat lights if you are unaware of this. If you go with a mat I would go with a seed heater mat. They come with thermostats and are usually cheaper than Exo and the other big pet store branded mats. I used to use one with my Dubia roach colony. Thought they would need the extra temp to breed but no. They'll bred at 73 F just fine. Mine did! Happy Spoodering!
