Hey everyone,

I'm about to rehouse a tarantula from someone and wanted to know its species and sex. The original owner mentioned having it for 6 years and it was a Rose Hair but wasn't completely sure on species/sex. I appreciate everyone's knowledge and I am excited to join this hobby!

Best!

Hello Anthony and welcome to this great forum.
By the nickname and the look of your T I would say it is a Grammostola rosea. If it is indeed 6 years old, as it doesn't show hooks or boxing gloves, it is pretty fair to say this is a female.
Take a minute to introduce yourself to everyone in the "introduction" thread, this is a friendly forum with a wealth of resources, extremely knowledgeable people and using the search tool might help to answer many questions you will soon have as you are discovering this addictive hobby. For any answer you won't find on a previous thread, ask away and many will always be happy to help.
Have a great day.
