I've watched both my Boehmei sling and my Avic Versi use their fangs to carry substrate and moss. The Boehmei, when it was digging up its first den carried bits of soil as big as itself all the way from the bottom to the surface. The Avic was disguising its web at the bottom using moss and substrate.
It's adorable to watch.

My boehmei does the exact same thing. I line the bottom of my enclosures with coco husk and there was a piece as big, if not bigger, as him and I thought I would need to get some tweezers and pull some ninja moves to get the piece out but by the time I had returned home later that day the big piece was in the corner, well out of the way compared to where it was.

I have also witnessed my boehmei using fangs for digging/moving... Pretty cool I must admit!! Awesome video!
