Yesterday I aquired a Mexican Black Velvet from my friend for a birthday gift. He got it at discount. The pet store wanted to get rid of it because it was such a jerk. So I tried touching it lightly with a glove and it flipped out tried to bite me and ran away. Also it can climb plastic, is that normal?

Yes. Tarantulas only interact with other organisms to either breed, feed, or be eaten by them.

We are too be for them to bed on us or breed with us, so that leaves us eating them.

They aren't fond of that...
