Hello, my name is Jay and i am new to keeping tarantulas. I have kept plenty of reptiles and wanted to venture into inverts. I currently own a hairy desert scorpion, a pumpkin patch sling, and….. a p. regalis. Yes, i know it is a huge jump but i wanted a challenge. They’re all happy and feeding great. I plan on rehousing the P. Regalis soon. Maybe later on today as it has outgrown it’s sling enclosure and planning to just move it into it’s permanent enclosure. Any tips questions are appreciated.

Hello and welcome. Tom Moran has some great rehousing videos on YouTube. He cuts cardboard to fit over a catch cup with a hole in it so you can encourage your little buddy to exit the cup. The cardboard should be cut large enough to cover the opening of your enclosure to prevent escapes. 2nd piece of cardboard needed to cover cup opening. I'm new, but it worked well with my last rehouse.

Thank you! I seen a ziplock method on youtube but this one looks way more safe for my T. I appreciate it.

Nice! For some reason I had not seen this or maybe my feeble memory forgot it. I have just been using an open cup, but I like the increased security of this.
