Hello I was recently trying to get a tarantula to keep mostly as a show piece. I have experience with reptiles and getting a tarantula was something I always wanted to do. I don't know much about all the different species. I'm not looking to handle the tarantula so temperament isn't an issue. I was really just looking for a tarantula that spins a lot of webs as that is what attracted me to the animal, thanks in advance!

Well, the first one that comes to mind is an Orange Baboon Tarantula aka OBT aka P. murinus. They web a lot, but like to stay out of sight.

The Avicularia species do some webbing. I have an A. versicolor (Martinique Pinktoe) sling that has built itself a silken hammock in the upper corner of its cage. :) AlsoI think the C. cyaneopubescen (Green Bottle Blue) webs, too.

I have a Metallic Pink Toe (Avicularia Metallica) a super neat, pretty, speedy T that spins almost like a thick funnel web in his tank! This T is very low maintenance, is not expensive, gets about 5.1-5.9 inches at full maturity, and mine is pretty visible at all time and active. And they have excellent personalities and are docile and fun to handle (if one day you decide to do so). I also have a Salmon Pink Birdeater (Lasiodora Parahybana) its a sling right now and I fell in love with him/her they are beautiful T's and I see her about 80% of the time, they don't really spin a web, but they lay a fine silk in front of their borrows and it acts like a dinner bell when prey gets caught in the web. Mine enjoys interaction, but their temperaments can be testy, but they get to be 10-11.5 inches!!! They are true beauty's! Welcome to the forum!:D
