Not the most unusual of spiders but I didn’t have an arboreal in my collection after the loss of my Avic last year and now I do and she’s lush!

Actually the more I look at her the more I kind of want one.
I never wanted a Pokie before and then I watched Dave’s (Little Beasties) video and his Regalis was so stunning as an adult. Mine’s a juvie but she’s so pretty. With the usual warnings around poison and speed. She’s already building a home behind the cork bark.

I do like his channel. Tarantula Collective is another channel I watch frequently. I’m hoping to find a breeder that has an A. Purpurea, T. Vegans, P. Murinus and P. Regalis at a good price.

Love Dave's channel! Never wanted (or more like thought) a Pokie cause they are pricey! That all changed when I got a female adult Regalis for a great price and now.... Ohhhhh boy ready for lots of Pokies! I hope your Regalis is as laid back as mine. I do maintenance in her enclosure and now most times she just sits there or will leisurely stroll back to her cork bark. The lady from the couple I purchased her from said she would even consider handling her. She is a mild spider but don't think I will give that a go anytime soon..lol! Happy Pokieing!! My new word...lol!

Unfortunately people over charge for Ts. Considering the number of slings born and the number of breeders out there you would think prices would be lower. That’s what happens when people get into breeding thinking they are going to make a living from it when 9 out of 10 times it’s not true. Breeding is a side hustle and in my opinion should be done not for money but for the hobby itself so fewer wild caught species will be sold(as they tend to be cheaper). I want to get into breeding so I can introduce more people to the joys of owning these amazing animals.

Do agree bout the prices no doubt. Breeding on the other hand is not as easy as you think especially trying to breed Cyriopagopous much less trying to make a living doing it! Most breeders I believe it is there side hustle anyways. I would love to breed some of the more expensive T's (think Xenesthis) and sell them at a far more reasonable price! Still might give that a go one day when the finances are right!! Happy Spoodering!

I understand it’s not easy, but it’s also not like other animals that require bigger enclosures and more costly equipment and you are producing more than a couple offspring. A smart breeder would sell the slings a little cheaper that way you still make money but are more likely to sell them quicker(saving money in the long run). And you don’t have to sell them if a person seems like they might not know how or won’t properly take care of the T.

The breeders do sell their offspring cheap. The online sellers is the mark up. Long as we keep buying them at their prices they will sell them at what they are getting. They have no incentive to lower price unless we quit buying. And as with everything this is species specific. Rare spiders will always command a big price tag! It's when you see P. Irminia and Cambridgei slings still going for $25 dollars or more it is irksome. Still see T. Albo slings sometimes for stupid high prices for a T Albo. I love and have all 3 of those and none should be over a 10 spot far as I'm concerned buuuuttttt! Anyway, Happy Spoodering!
