I just got offered this lovely, but vicious, little OBT for a really good price! I've done lots of research and think i'll go for it, better start setting up :)

Be ready, they are fast and furious. :)
I saw her in action in the shhop she's in, a real live wire :) Unfortunately my husband has been doing some online research on them and watching youtube videos and has put his foot down and said no :( I need to work on him!

They're really not bad. As long as you're aware of what they are, you won't have any issue. I wrote a thread on it here somewhere...
He's normally scared of spiders and is ok with the Chile Rose and the Antilles pinktoe! I've told him she'd be very securely locked in and never handled but he's digging his heels in :(

Make him come around OBT are definitely worth it. They make some of the best webs around. and even if you don't see the spider, the webs are amazing in their own right.

OBT are one of those spider your fear and love. they are beautiful, great webbers, and practically un-killable (I mean they hardy and you can't really screw up with them). at the same time they are fast, highly defensive, and have potent venom. so I can see why your husband is saying no, so I would say don't rush him with changing his mind, because they are not going to leave the hobby so you have plenty of time. personally I think the best way to convince him is to start small with a OBT sling. they are dirt cheep like 10 bucks a sling. at the small size they are more skittish than defensive. that way you husband would grow with the OBT and by the time he is not terrified of it. he will love it instead of fear and then you can deal with the defensive nature of it.

I'm getting addicted now, they're so fascinating to watch1 Getting Orangina out of her enclosure in the store is going to be tricky as she is very very fast and defensive!
