Welcome to the forum/family :)
By your tank setup I can tell you really care about your new baby and wants what's best for her. At this time your enclosure is way too big for Tiffany. An A. avicularia her size should be on a deli cup. Please check at @octanejunkie posts and threads about Avicularia's husbandry, you will find there tons of very useful tips as well as great pictures of what the setup should be for that size. Fear not, we have all been there and we are all here to help.

Hello and welcome!! I agree with the above post. Your enclosure looks great for a bigger spider, but your little guy will be over whelmed with the space and might not be able to find its food. When it comes to T's , they don't need as much space as we want them to have lmao. But so happy your here and can't wait to see how it grows up!!

She has ate already and is now in her tree!!
Awesome!! We all have made mistakes and or gotten bad advice one time or another. I started with a cobalt blue t like 10+ years ago. I've always loved tarantulas. I'm not going to put a real name because honestly I bought it online and all I got from the dealer was it's a cobalt blue. I knew absolutely nothing about keeping a t. Or if it was or wasn't the T that was sold. It was blue for sure and very defensive. The t jumped and came at you when you touched anything inside it's enclosure. It was a pet hole as everyone else called it. Until you touched the substrate which at the time probably was just a moisten block of coco fiber. I wish I knew more and did research on it so I could have known more about it other then just what I told you. I always enjoyed it until well you had to do something inside it's enclosure. Let's just say if that was the T it should have been kept in better conditions and it was def. Not a beginner t.
You obviously care a lot and you are doing your best to learn to do right by your t which is great!!. It's hard sometimes putting your self out there to ask questions or share, but def. Don't stop!!
I hope you and Tiffany have a great experience together for many years to come. And I can't wait to see the pics!!!

What a cutie. Welcome to the forum. I started out with an overly large enclosure as well. No harm came to my T, but I had to corral the food to her until I finally rehoused. I still have the enclosure, just patiently waiting for someone to grow into it.

That's why you get more Ts!

You are better off putting them in smaller spaces as slings, allows you to control and monitor feeding and watering better. You are welcome to do whatever you like, however.

Here's a little something I put together after keeping avics for a few years, YMMV

Best of luck and welcome to the hobby and the forum!

Thanks alot....I have always wanted one...and now I have 2 juvies...I will work with these for a awhile and then once I get some experience I'll get a baby or two....my goal is to gain enough experience to get a large species like a baboon or a bird eater but I have no where near enough yet
