Hi guys, i'm from Argentina. I have this tarantula for two weeks (my first one). I work in a vet and it was a gift from a client who didn't want it anymore. I did a lot of research and I made this terrarium (she lived in tiny fauna fox and feeded with worms only) and bought some cockroachs (blaptica dubias and runners) I know everything about feeding, temperature, humidity, etc. The thing is... I don't know wich specie is, age or gender (someone told me it might be a female) I really know nothing about her history, and it seems that the previous owner knows less than me 'cause he didn't answer any of my questions. I know that I will be able to know if it's really a female when she molt (I will asked you for help then :)) About the ID I think she might be a Grammostola... Grammostola chalcothrix is very similar but lot of other species too, they look soooo similar is driving me crazy and I really want to know exactly what is she. Is it possible to know approximately how old is she/he?.
Sorry for so many questions! I'm so exited and in love with my tarantula that I have to know everything! I'm a beginner but I really want to learn about this beatiful animals
sorry for my english btw

Hi, I don't know about the type of species or how to ventrally sex them, but I just wanted to say you have a nice, creative enclosure for your T. He/she is very lucky to have come across you. :) and also, it really does look like a chalcothrix. They have the same patella markings.

Thank you lovely :) I'm glad you like It. 80% said It was a juvenile chaco golden knee and the enclosure Is not so nice for a Chaco. I just don't know what to do.

Well it does look like a chaco, but the thing with that is of all the pictures I've seen of them, they had strikingly yellow knees. Unless your camera wasn't taking good pictures, I don't see that on yours.

What a lucky spider to have been taken in by you! I can say that it's not a G pulchripes, but I have no idea what it is. Very cute though.

Thank you! I believe It's a G. Chalcothrix or Vachoni. But I can't find anyone who can tell me for sure.

I'm not sure what it is, in some photos it looks like Lasiodora parahybana. The ventral photo suggests it's a female but if you want to be 100% sure wait until the next molt. Enjoy your first tarantula!:T:
