I got flicked by my lasiodora parahybana while I was cleaning her enclosure.. It was the first time I saw her flicked.. I wonder what went wrong..

It was yesterday, at first I felt nothing.. but I woke up at the middle of the night due uncomfort, stinging itching feeling on my hand and arms.. I then found I had swollen red spots..

How long will this possibly last? Is this a normal reaction?

Hello
If its due to the hairs, take a cloth and dab the area over and over. This will make the hairs stick to the cloth,if this is due to the hair like I've said if then I'd be more cautious from now on I don't show these reactions when flicked.

I used oil to to relieve it..
I hope it gets better..

I don't show these reactions with my other species, boehmie, geniculata to name a few who always flick..

Both of my LP's have turned into hair flickers! I find that packing tape helps a bit, but I also have almost no arm hair. Guess it wouldn't work for everyone. I also recently bought those giant yellow housewife cleaning rubber gloves- they were very handy when I rehomed my MM t.stirmi. I can't even believe that I've had tarantulas for five years without them! I used to get fiberglass burn up to my elbows just spot cleaning his tank. :/
