read online (eyerolls please) lol from several places that Tarantula diet consist in part of Junebugs, June Beetles, and I guess Figeater beetles depending on which side of the world you are on! Wondering if anyone has tried this! Those beetles go bat crap crazy buzzing around and they have a noticeably firm grasp to me which makes me think this could really stress a T out more than being a beneficial source of nutrition! But for the moment there are about 10,000 hovering a foot off the ground in my back yard! Anyone who has any info I would love to hear!

The larvae can certainly be a great feeder if it's captive-bred and fed a wholesome diet of birdseed and fruit. You may have to crush their head first though, as mature cotinis grubs have a powerful bite.

I actually bred Cotinis mutabilis for a while and supplied someone with them for a couple of months, they grow pretty fast for a scarab and get big enough to feed but takes a year to mature regardless of what you do.

The adults are just too strong and armored. they might actually end up injuring your spider as it tries to bite- their claws can rip the abdomen
