Is it possible I've been sent the wrong T?

Think I've received the wrong tarantula, surely the shop wouldn't make that mistake?

It's possible the shop made a mistake but doesn't happen very often.

If you post a picture of the T and tell us what it was you ordered then we should be able to help....

I found out they gave me a free one but the one I ordered was missing, I was waiting for a versicolor sling and this is definitely not a versicolor. I should receive the versicolor Tuesday now after the bank holiday, bit annoying.

I wish I had have known they were sending a free one, I was not prepared for it but hey free T :)

What did they send you?
Have you ordered your AV from T Bristol? Just asking because they're selling them about the same size as I got mine, which I thought was a good size to start with, lol (not too small, but still a pretty sling).

If she orderd from T Bristol then the free T will be C.fasciatum,I find it a bit odd that they sent the fee T and forgot about the versi,I've never had this happen.
@Charlotte, you won't get the versi untill Wednesday now as Mondays a bank holiday and it won't get sent out untill Tuesday......

Hi,

I ordered from a local reptile center that also sells Ts, they always give me free crickets which is awesome so I contacted them and asked them if they had any versi slings, I was told yes and placed the order. When I spoke to the manager yesterday he said that the slings were not at the shop yet as the person that bred them was bringing them in Tuesday and I should not have been told they were available yet (oooppps to the staff member)

So it looks like I was told they were available and the staff member must have realised this was not the case and sent me a free one in way of apology however I was not told this which is why I was so confused! I've spoken with the manager again today and he said there should have been an email sent to me explaining the mix up but I did not receive one.

I'm just putting it down to a lack of communication and will wait until my versi comes next week (hopefully) I wish I'd have used The Spider Shop now!

The free T was C.fasciatum just like @Ghost said but not from T Bristol, @Ghost is this a common free T from T Bristol? I was going to order from them before, can you ask for them not to send a free T? I've read up on them and I'm not sure if it is suitable for me as I'm quite new to the hobby. I have taken the free T back to the shop and have said I just want my versi.

@Fuzzball79 do you have any pics? I can't wait to get mine, it's taking ages! They're so cute as slings! :)

@Charlotte,
If you do order from T Bristol and don't want the free T then you can email them and tell them you don't want it,their quite quick at responding to emails.
As for the C.fasciatum I understand that you didn't want it but their really not that hard to care for, infact their alot easier to keep than A.versicolor as their nowwhere near as care sensitive, and would have made a nice addition to your collection.....

@Charlotte My C.fasciatum has given me no trouble. It came as a tiny sling of 0.25" and has grown to 0.75" in the year I've had it, a prolific webber and burrower but not as skittish as some.

@Ghost Awww I'm a little disappointed I took it back now, maybe I'll go and ask if I can have it after all, I am still getting my versi so maybe they'll offer it to me again. I just don't want it to be too much as I can see my collection is going to groq quite quickly!

Someone should have warned me how addictive it is! :)

@Enn49 Would you say they're suitable for beginners? Mmmm I can see myself having more and more lol

@Charlotte,Yes this hobby is very addictive,I said when I got back into the hobby after a two year break that I would only have a small collection this time but it never happend and I'm at 140 T's now,Allrhough in my defence that number includes the 60 odd versi slings that I got from a sac that I pulled a couple weeks ago.

Oh and the answer to the C.fasciatum being suitable for beginners question is yes.
Also to answer your question in your other thread about feeding your versi sling,I feed all my slings twice a week and feed pinhead crickets or roach nymphs,I feed them at night and remove any uneaten prey in the morning anyway hope this helps....

@Charlotte Yes, they're fine for beginners, I'd only been keeping a few months when I got mine.

It depends where you order from. Swifts Inverts always gives away freebies.

Started to show adult colours after a couple of moults

This is what she looks like now. Waiting for food as usual in this pic. She's in premoult at the moment, the only time she's not out in the open
