I couldn’t get it out of my head and I went ahead and got the Cyricosmus elegans. It’s a sling, the breeder only has slings for now and I am terrified and excited at the idea of raising this one from a sling to adulthood. It’s really tiny now but seems pretty curious.

Is moss from the dollar store okay? Says it’s sun dried and free of any chemicals. When I say dollar store I mean the 100 yen store in Japan

If it's pet-grade moss it should be fine, if you're not sure don't use it

I was once worried about caring for the really small ones. And they are more fragile so to speak than older ones, but they are still fun to keep. One thing I need to remember to do is not bring their small cups/vials up closer to my face to see them. That brings them way high above a surface.

I’m not sure, I could ask the breeder what to use. He’s usually very helpful despite the language barrier.
But then again the last time I asked him what I could add to the lady bug spider’s enclosure, he kinda stressed no soil and paper is better and that she doesn’t care as long as she can web up everything.

I… am kinda already guilty of that… although I found using zoom on my phone is better than me squinting and peering into the enclosure

Congratulations! Piccolo, my C.elegans loved cricket drumsticks and prekilled bits of mealworm when she was a baby. She’s a professional excavator too. Have fun!

Here is one of my G. pulchra - Brazilian black tarantulas, one of two that just molted. I am using a 2 oz condiment cup for them. Biggest problem with tiny slings that it is even easier to convince myself to get more as they don't take up much room. Not now, at least.
