I was expecting my 2 new Ts today but due to holidays, freezing weather and sellers PC problems they won't be here until Tues/Wed next week. I'd got myself all excited as you do but at least my new containers arrived so I decided to rehouse some of the others.

I started with my littlest B. albo, Tinto. I gently removed the cork bark and leaves from the old deli and arranged them in the new tub. Very carefully I emptied the old sub into an empty cricket tub but no sign of the little T. I then checked the cork bark and leaves that I'd switched over but still no Tinto. Four times I searched both tubs then eventually I spotted something odd on the bottom of the cork.

After a few minutes Tinto emerged

Then came Popo, the smallest of my 2 B. smithi . How easy can a rehouse get? It was sitting on the leaf and stayed perfectly still as I transferred it to the new container.

Next was Pico, my other B. smithi. Again I gently emptied the sub into the cricket tub and there it was, decidedly bigger than last time I saw it so I guess there's a moult in there somewhere. This one made it easy too by walking into the catch cup then into its new home but went straight into hiding. You can just see it's butt between the cork and plant.

Lastly was the one I was waiting for. Coco my first and biggest B. albo that moulted a few weeks ago. It has grown quite a bit. Coco was no trouble either and it was good to see it other than just the belly through the side.

I was really disappointed but the new containers look great. They're stackable cubes so they are all neat and tidy.

I look forward to seeing pics of your new ones when they come.

Get yourself one of those small butane pencil torch. They come with a sharp pointed tip and goes thru plastic like it's nothing. leaves a perfect little round hole. http://www.harborfreight.com has them on sale now at $8.99. Item #41169

.

I used to have a small soldering iron that was perfect but it seems to have gone walkies lol.

I too am waiting on Ts. It sucks when you get all excited and expect them and then something happens. But it's OK, you will have them soon!

I love the names that you gave your little Ts, so cute! I can't believe that rehousing was such a breeze for you! How lucky can you get?
Your little containers are nice. :)

I hope that your new Ts arrive safe and sound!

I was really gutted that they didn't come but then I still have their arrival to look forward to.

I love picking names and usually try to pick ones which have a connection to the country where they originate. The 2 B. smithi's are named after Mexican volcanoes and the albo's are named after Honduran rivers.

Just keep reminding yourself that it was for the good of the Tarantulas that the shipping was delayed. :) They will be there before you know it! I know how hard it is to wait for them. But sometimes the wait is so worth it! I am looking forward to seeing your new babies when you get them!

I'll admit to worrying about them coming this week as it has been very cold and with the holiday there was the chance of them being delayed. The extra time has had a bonus too as I have managed to find a bit more info on one of them and it appears the C. perezmilesi is semi-arboreal.

They are both going to be so tiny, 0.25'' but I'll do my best to get some photos.
