Just saying a quick "hi!" I am a new T owner...been collecting for two months now. In that short period of time, I have collected 25 T's, read the T Keeper's Guide, and have watched 100's of feeding/rehousing/unpacking/mythbuster vids. (Obsessed is a mild term for what I am!)

I'm short on real-world experience, so I'm here to gleen information and to sometimes get helpful opinions from people who've been keeping T's way longer than me. Knowledge from reading and watching a bajillion YouTube videos is very helpful, but it doesn't substitute for experience.

See you around! :)

Wow, that's some collection in just 2 months. You've already discovered how addictive our 8 legged friends are and you've just found a great place for friendly advice.

Yes...I'm just starting to wind down (a TINY bit) in my need to acquire. Although..lol....I have my eye on two more right now. A Bumba cabocla & an Euathlus sp. Red. I can't help myself!!!!!! I do intend to breed these someday as a side business. Exciting!

Hubby still thinks the collection is around 15 specimens...ha!

I thought I was bad lol. I bought my first in March last year and am up to 34 with 2 more on order to come at the end of this month and still 6 on my wish list. It's so hard to resist them especially when you see other peoples Ts on here.:T:

Geez...ain't that the truth?? Can't resist the little buggers! Shockingly, I was severely arachnophobic just a few months ago! Amazing. I guess I've gotten over that! ;)

I still am when it comes to spiders on the loose in the house but the Ts I'm fine with even when they decide to try to escape up my hand.

The thought of house spiders roaming on me while I sleep WIGS ME OUT. I used to be a kill-on-sight spider hater. Then, I became a gardener & saw how helpful they are, so I started catching and releasing. But...I have started to catch them to look at them. And maybe to keep one to feed. lol..... My hubby is confused...asking, "Where did the woman, who'd wake me up in the middle of the night to kill a big spider, go??" HAHA! She got informed. Knowledge is the key to overcoming fear. Love my T's.:T: Can't ever imagine not having them now.:D

In the garden they're not so bad as they have space to run away, it's the ones in the house that get me. I can't abide cobwebs either and yet I can handle the Ts webs. Weird or what?

I know! Weird, indeed. Maybe it's because the T's are bigger...and our pets? I told hubby, they're large and furry...practically rodents. HAHAHA!:D

Cleaning out the basement this past weekend, the cobwebs were killing me... I'd run into one & squeal like a little girl! haha.... It's the unfamiliar. Better to hang out with the little beasties you know than with those you don't! :T:

I think it's the pet thing because some of my Ts are only around 0.25''.

@spidey noob & @Thivo: Yup!! Never been one to take *anything* slowly! I jump into the deep end all the time, BUT....in my defense for such rapid T acquisition.....lol....I did read the T Keeper's Guide, watched almost all of Jon3800's feeding vids on YT, and researched each species before I bought any. I just do things.....speedily.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm sure I'll be seeing you! :D

Yup.... I love his videos! Rob loves those T's! I just wonder where he's been lately. No vids from him in a long while.:(
Fyi, Rob stated on one of his videos that, either building or renovating his home, was going to be the priority. I too like his vids, very informative and straightforward.

Thanks, Therasoid! I must not yet have gotten to the video where he said he was gonna check out due to his home reno. Right on.;) I'm glad it's nothing bad...just prioritizing his life. I hope he will be making some new vids at some point... We can hope.:)

Welcome to the forum! That's an awesome collection so far. I'm still fairly new to the hobby but did all the same research you did :) I hope to expand my collection a little faster after our move. Can't help but to pick up a new pet at every expo I go too..

Ha! We're getting ready to move, too! lol... We list our home on June 1 & houses are actually selling nowadays, so (**fingers crossed**) hopefully, we'll sell quickly and get on the road. Job transfer. To a bigger city, nearer to both a monthly reptile expo & to a T breeder I know of. YAY! I guess I'll be getting more soon, too.

Thanks for the welcome! :)
